Athletics Coordinator

Accomack County is currently recruiting for a part-time Athletics Coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Department. The purpose of the position is to manage sports league programs and events at Sawmill Park and other locations where the Parks and Recreation division conducts sports-related programs. Employees in this classification perform administrative work.  This position is responsible for sports league programs and sports-related event planning; the preparation and processing of reports, forms, and correspondence; the monitoring of sporting events schedules; and ensuring grounds, fields, and areas of the parks are ready for the scheduled events and programs.  Schedule will be no more than 29 hours a week.

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) to three (3) years of experience in event planning, management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.  Preferred qualifications: Sports league or sports event planning experience; Certified in first-aid and CPR; Bilingual capabilities a plus.  

Satisfactory completion of a background check, medical exam including drug screening and DMV records checks are required prior to employment. DMV records check will be performed annually thereafter.
